2009 SmartCommute Challenge
Join the thousands of Triangle commuters who do something good for the environment by taking the bus, biking, walking, carpooling, vanpooling or working from home!
Visit www.SmartCommuteChallenge.org starting April 15 to take the 2009 SmartCommute Challenge. Pledge to take a smarter, greener commute at least once between April 15 and May 30 and you could win fabulous prizes, including a commuter bike and a laptop.
New Regional Transit Center
Triangle Transit's transfer center is moving. A brand new Regional Transit Center opens December 1, 2008. The new transit center, located in Durham's Imperial Center, is adjacent to The Research Triangle Park. Most of Triangle Transit's routes will have schedule and routing changes starting December 1, including some that will not serve the Regional Transit Center. Workshop on Alternative Transportation in RTP - November 11, 2008
This workshop will include a moderated discussion to generate ideas for transit (and other) connections to employers located within The Research Triangle Park. RTP employers/employees interested in transit and other alternative commuting options (bike/walk, carpool, vanpool, etc.) to and within the Park should attend. Try Transit Week - September 22 - 26, 2008

Triangle Transit Short-Range Transit Plan, June 2008
Triangle Transit has released their draft Short-Range Transit Plan (SRTP) for public review and comment. The plan will guide improvements to current services and expansion of services into new areas over the next five years. To learn more about the SRTP recommendations, download a copy of the draft SRTP, and provide your feedback, please visit the SRTP website: http://www.triangletransit.org/srtp.

Triangle Transit Pass Subsidy for New Riders
There is a SmartCommute member benefit available to NEW
transit riders of SmartCommute member employers (effective September 2, 2008). Please
fill out the online application. If you submit the online application and do not receive a confirmation email within 2 days, please send an email to smartcommute@rtp.org. Please do not apply for the pass unless you know that a Triangle Transit route works for you (see GoTriangle.org). Once your full-time employment is verified by your employer, you will be sent a Triangle Transit Ten-Ride Pass.
